Pöyrällä!

A bike, a tent, a cooking stove and the best company. What else is needed for a very free life? Aland, Vardö, Brändö, Kustavi, Iniö, Houstkär, Korpo, Turku, a bunch of ferries, warm water full of hauki and greasy donnuts.Ah and I forget sauna, songs, games and sun.

Post industrial pizza

Helsinki 2050, we are in a post apocalyptical world. Some survivors gather around a primitive oven to make some food. Wood has been found far away from the remaining of the city, ingredients are pizza dough and seagull: seagull pizza. Some survivors also take a bath in the contaminated water around the old coal power plant. Its cadmium content is believed to have some positive effect on the skin. 05.07.2011.

Time to grow blue potatoes...

Somebody looking for a placement in glass making find something in a lost village, Nutaajärvi, where they blow glass since te 18th century. By chance, a very open minded traveller host her in the country side in a house full of ghosts and humour. Small coincindences lead me to spend a week end feeding mosquitoes there and enjoying to swim in a beautiful lake and in another one, but a poetic one. In the latter, the water was of a deep orange and swimming under the water lead to a orange hands appearing and disappearing. I also got some pride in driving a tractor and planting potatoes with the help of J. and T. 12.06.2011

On the jäätie

Looking for northern light, we just found a frozen lake, a road on there, thousands of tiny islands, such a warm welcoming, the mirage of a seal, the iceroad and the Pulla. 26.03.2011 (I am so late ...).

Fishing part 1

For a frenetic moment, go fishing silakka (baltic herring) during the reproduction time next to Lauttasaari bridge. A line full of big fat hooks, lures or not, whatever and just remove these fishes as you were shoveling them out of the sea. They are so stupid and crazy that they will do anyting to get caught. It was funny to see the grand-ma bringing 10 fishes at each throw from their line and hear our young neighbour pesting while catching nothing!

Why are the fish so shiny, silvery? read the Kalevala to know everything!

I was there with Matthieu, what a fishing enthusiast. 10.05.2011

Last photo: a day full of wind, sun and hope but fishless. Troutless. Next time or another....
