Skating some more.

The great ice conditions motivated some to fly to spend a week end skating on the sea. Departure flight at 4 pm, therefore early start at 8 am on Sunday. Andrey and Florian didn't hesitate to wake up for the trip. Departure from Mustikkamaa to Vuosaari. 24 km that felt easy due to the very good surface of the ice, which made the trip very smooth. The feeling of going so fast with so little effort in such a strange place (the sea frozen surface) is still making me dizzy.

After-work retkiluistelu

If I wasn't sure about it, Helsinki is a dream place. Simply finish work, take a couple of buses to the shore of Lauttasaari, put on your long-distance skate and here you go, there are kilometres of very good ice. And the setting sun adds a bit to the experience indeed. 

Unfortunately, each day takes a lot of ice away. 25.03.2013
