Tall ships races, Helsinki 2013

About a hundred of big sailing ships came to Helsinki for the tall ships races 2013. The opportunity to have a festival at Hietalahti, music, food and ship visits. Particularly noticed was the Mexican ship, with all the sailors busy to take phone numbers of local girls. Well after their arrival, with about fifty men in the masts, playing music, they got famous here.

Michal, Tuisku and me went to Pihlajasaari by kayak to see them  going away. A long show as they went one after another. The sea was absolutely full of boats of all kind watching this unique event.

Seeing all this ships going away was quite strong and I have nothing else in mind than the idea of going for a sailing trip! Let's see.

Juhannus 2012 - Saint Jean

It is Juhannus again. A day to remember that in the first place and until today we are worshiping the sun. So for a night, everybody try to be in the country side, close to our so-called roots, and drink together while waiting for a dusk that won't come that day. And make a large bonefire, the kokko, to burn any bad thoughts left from the winter night.

Excellent time on Valborg. Some beautiful weather, some cold drizzle, some castle island, some alias and trivial poursuite in Finnish. Thank to the Valborg crew to make this possible. 23.06.2012

It wouldn't go any darker than that.

Back on sea.

Some awsome old wood sailing ships racing in front of Helsinki. For the silakkamarkkinat.  Big thanks to Valborg crew! 08.10.2011
